The Society has been running monthly online competitions since August 2020 as an alternative means of maintaining contact with members during the Covid restrictions. So far more than 70 competitions have been run with over 1,400 entries from both members and visitors. Prizes will be awarded for First, Second and Third places. All members and non-members are invited to join in.
As we move into the Summer solstice there should be plenty of colour appearing in our gardens. Last year we ran a number of competitions that were limited to just one colour, one colour that we didn’t use was Violet. On closer inspection there are a wide range of flowering plants that would be classified as part of the Violet (Purple) colour chart (see attached) so this month’s theme is Violet (and shades thereof). This month we were asking for a photo of a Violet plant preferably from your own garden but can be elsewhere if you find a display that is worth photographing.
